Well, well, well.
I've been working on my French journal project a lot lately, and now all I have to do is type up one last entry and print everything out! I still have a lot of work to do though, considering I have only a week.
Saturday was a fun day..although we got a late start (around 11:00!) we went to Portland to shop (basically wanting to spend some of that Christmas money!). We went to Clackamas Town Center..boy was that place crazy! A lot of rich suburban and urban girls trying to out-glitter each other basically. A lot of artificially straightened hair, mascara, and make up in general. I also noticed how like, 10 stores are basically exactly the same. They sell the same stuff, they play the same pounding, headache-causing music.
A lot of pink and black clothing on the market right now..a lot of 50s style stuff too. Did we ask for this? NO. The clothing companies forced this mess upon us! They decide what is in and what is out, and right now, 50s style and mod clothing in black and pink is extremely hip. I couldn't believe some of the "sale" prices in Abercrombie and Fitch. It was outrageous.
Ok, I rant a lot. I found a $30 pair of normal jeans (normal as in no pre-worn slashes that are supposed to be rad, no decorative zippers on the thighs) at meier and frank, which I decided to buy, although it was hard buying such expensive jeans after having success in the past at thrift stores. I also bought a pink long sleeve shirt and a nifty white knit turtleneck at Rave. And finally, I discovered excitedly that AE had a store there, and even though everything is overpriced, I found a sale item, that was actually at a sale price. So I couldn't resist and bought the last size small unicorn print long sleeve shirt they had..Becky kind of wanted it too, and she was the one that went through the hassle of trying to get it off this really annoying hanger (it was underneath a jacket and layered over another shirt! And the only other size that wasn't in such a predicament was a size Large).
Becky found a nice pea coat type jacket at Gap..with toggle ties. It's "camel" colored.
After going to Barnes and Nobles so Becky could get a few books, we were going to meet some friends (they live in Hillsboro) at "Old Town Pizza," a funky little pizza restaurant. But mom was overconfident as to its whereabouts and got lost...for a half an hour. Despite inquiries at a gas station and several people using a crosswalk, we'd had no luck finding the place. Finally we asked some more people and they directed us to its location. After finding a parking spot, we got out and proceeded to walk down the sidewalk. Some random guy was walking on across the street behind us, and was yelling obscenites, presumably towards us for no particular reason. Oh well.
Seeing our friends was pretty fun, we talked over pesto pizza for the better part of two hours. I love Old Town Pizza! It's very artsy, lots of plants hanging from the ceiling, old posters, and a giant collage of cut-outs from magazines in the bathroom!
We drove home and even in HR it was snowing! By the time we got on to Miller Road, it was like a mini snowstorm. Mom threatened to wipe out a couple mailboxes, but we made it home ok!
