Happenings, annoyances, observations, and some photographic documentation

This weekend, with the exception of the annual and much-celebrated blackberry pull yesterday, has been dull.
Actually I was expecting to do the post canyon rec. area clean up yesterday, but another group went in there a few weeks ago and hauled out seven truckloads, so there wasn't anything to clean up. With a surplus (five dozen) of bagels and a mere five earth club members present, we decided to pull blackberries at the high school instead. It took us a while to get started because we didn't have the key to the equipment shed at the school and a run for clippers and gloves had to be made. However we chose to attack an immense patch of blackberries down by the stream and cleared a significant portion. Many full wheel barrow loads were taken to the burn pile. Blackberry thorns when embedded in one's arm, are very reminiscent of the scene from Jaws when that guy discovers a great white tooth stuck in a boat. They really do resemble tiny shark teeth. So I ended up with a few scratches but nothing too serious.

All I've done besides that is watch TV and work on my fly labs.
