Happenings, annoyances, observations, and some photographic documentation

High school math is over, the last test was today. Turned in that darn algebra 2 book. No more will it cause grief.

Somehow I thought English after the AP test would be some exciting wonder. But actually it wasn't all that great. However, this last day was pretty cool. Donuts and humorous stories and movie clips. I got out of photographing art during photography 'cause I wanted to, well, needed to, study for the math test. Samantha and I listened to Eric Clapton while reviewing geometric and arthimetic sequences and series. It's her way of dealing with stress I guess..

The test took the whole time, but it wasn't that bad. Then in art I put in an hour of journal-making for next year's art students. That's about it. One more day left; all I'll have to do is finish with the check out process and take the bio. final, which I still need to study for. Pathetically enough, I think I'll miss the chaos of the disorganized official check-out day. Those are fun.

Yesterday we went up to Nottingham campground. It definitely receives my approval; both for scenic views and wildlife viewing potential. I saw a deer crossing the river and later wandered off while the hamburgers were cooking and found a young buck rummaging through a fire pit in another site. It knew I was there but luckily didn't run off, so I just sat by a boulder and watched it, took a few photos..and later another deer wandered in..an older doe. It reminded me of one of those national park visitor center short videos informing tourists to respect the wildlife. The doe became aware of my presence and eventually wandered off, and the young buck followed. As we were packing up the gear, I caught sight of an animate object hopping down the road. It was a snowshoe hare, only the second one I've ever seen. And this one was still half white! Its belly and legs were pure white while its top half was brown. In that intermediate stage between two types of camouflage that really just make it stick out more. Got one horribly blurred photo when I intercepted it, before it disappeared into the brush.
