Snow finally! For a few minutes. But, it is the kind that sticks. Definitely a positive sign. As long as it doesn't interfere with any travel of course. Ah, nature in a neat little box that fits in with our schedules!

Today I had friends over. We went on a walk, with Bosun, which was entertaining. We ended up playing Clue and watching the Disney Channel. We also saw an awesome great horned owl perched atop a fir. Our whole old deck is gone now, and all of the wood went for a huge bonfire. It was like mini but as intense as the homecoming bonfires. Plus we have this new gate on the road in front of the house and on one of the poles Tim placed the upper part of a cow skull (with horns), and it looked absolutely marvelous illuminated by the blazing fire. Indeed it was all Lord of the Flies -esque. We had barbequed hamburgers and then toasted 'mallows for s'mores on the fire while our faces felt like they were melting. Sure it looked like it had died down sufficiently, but wow, it was barely bearable, like a thorough bear mauling. Now the plan was to try another coyote calling. But the whole fire thing didn't mesh well with that. Chances are the coyotes would be totally suspicious and wary. So we looked at the Disneyland photos on the computer and the jump kick ones too. Then everyone left.

I have to get up early tomorrow. For fun though. We decided to go to the zoo first; zoo lights would be cool but can one really see the animals that well in the dark? I highly doubt it.
