Ack, it's monday again. I lack motivation.
The only intriguing thing that happened today was in food/culture class where an individual from the entomology department talked about insects as a source of protein in other cultures. I learned two important things: frass is the term used for insect excrement, and by law, up to 80 microscopic insect fragments are permitted per 100 grams of chocolate. Also I sampled the samples. A mealworm and a waxworm. Cooked..with butter and garlic. They're like super small, so it's not like they really tasted like anything. Still, the majority of people couldn't get past the mere idea of eating a "bug." Also a pair of Madascar hissing cockroaches were passed around. They were quite alive and well, and contained in a kritter keeper. Kritter keepers are the best. They work better for aquatic creatures like frogs though because lizards scratch the sides. Many a summer day I spent in pursuit of temporary occupants.
Tomorrow I predict will be mediocrity at its finest. Maybe a little, no, a lot of awkwardness. Hopefully the weather will at least be cheerful.
What is a Tibetan Eared Pheasant?!
